The Wait

The message explores the challenge of waiting for something important—whether it’s a long-anticipated event, opportunity, or accomplishment. Pastor Joel shares the story of a man training to be a police officer who struggled through the final evaluation phase but ultimately succeeded. This example illustrates how waiting can feel difficult and frustrating, leading some to want to rush or give up. However, waiting is presented as a valuable time for growth and preparation. The disciples, after Jesus’ resurrection, were instructed to wait and pray continually before beginning their mission, showing that waiting is not idle but a time to deepen trust and connection with God. So maybe the key isn’t to speed things up but to pray, listen, and learn during the wait—because God is at work even when it feels quiet. When we don’t waste the waiting, we’re ready to step into what God has next for us.
