Culture Shock
In this message, we reflected on how humans naturally create culture around shared interests—and how that tendency carries over into the church. It's easy to shape church life around our own preferences, comfort, or needs, but when we do that, we risk excluding not only others, but even Jesus himself. In Acts 2, we see a different picture of church: a Jesus-centered community devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. The early believers were deeply committed to each other, cared for one another’s needs, and lived in a way that reflected their love for Jesus. Their culture wasn't built around personal agendas but around who Jesus is and what he has done. When we keep him at the center—through prayer, shared meals, generosity, and mutual support—our church becomes a place of life, transformation, and witness to the world. The real challenge is to ask ourselves: who do we say Jesus is, and does our church culture show it?
